Fayetteville Technical Community College is pleased to announce that Dr. Tiffany Watts has been named Associate Vice President of Curriculum Programs and Dr. Murtis Worth has been named Dean of Nursing.
Dr. Tiffany Watts, Associate Vice President of Curriculum Programs
Dr. Watts will assist the College’s Senior Vice President for Academic & Student Services and the academic deans in the development, planning, implementation and support of for-credit curricular programs and services. Her primary responsibilities will include leading the curriculum division in the ongoing process of continuous improvement; ensuring that programs comply with state, regional and national standards; monitoring the program review process; and collaborating with external partners and stakeholders to increase relevance in the learning process.
Previously, Dr. Watts served as the Director of Strategic Research Initiatives in the Strategy & Policy Division at the University of North Carolina System Office. Dr. Watts has also served as a research scientist with the Center for Child and Family Policy at Duke University, a psychologist at Duke University, a program evaluation consultant at All Kinds of Minds, and an education policy Fellow at the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute. She is currently an adjunct assistant professor in the School of Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has taught at several other universities.
Dr. Watts received her bachelor’s degree in psychology, with honors, from N.C. State University and completed her doctorate in school psychology at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Dr. Murtis Worth, Dean of Nursing
Dr. Worth will lead the College’s nursing programs. Her responsibilities will include working with faculty and staff to support quality instruction, effective student learning and continual improvement of evaluations of student growth and development; working with other departments and with the community to improve social and economic conditions; and monitoring employer and community needs to identify and evaluate the potential for new programs.
Previously, Dr. Worth was Interim Associate Dean of the School of Nursing at Fayetteville State University. She has also been an assistant professor and clinical coordinator at FSU’s School of Nursing and a nursing and clinical instructor at FTCC. She has nearly two decades of clinical nursing experience in various roles at Cape Fear Valley Health System and Cumberland Anesthesia Associates.
Dr. Worth earned an associate degree in nursing from FTCC and her bachelor’s degree in nursing (magna cum laude) from East Carolina University’s School of Nursing. She also earned a master’s degree in nursing from ECU’s School of Nursing and completed her doctorate at the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro.
