For the second time in four years, Fayetteville Technical Community College has been ranked the No. 1 Military Friendly large community college in the nation.
The designation, for the 2022-23 academic year, was awarded by Viqtory, an independent media organization that connects the military community to civilian employment, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities.
The designation reflects FTCC’s commitment to providing quality educational opportunities and support to the military community, recognizing the hard work and sacrifices service members make.
“We are honored to receive this recognition again,” said FTCC President Dr. Larry Keen. “Fayetteville Technical Community College places a high priority on providing exceptional and unique programs and services to members of the military, veterans and their families. We are proud to serve those who serve us all so valiantly and at such sacrifice.”
FTCC also earned the No. 1 ranking on the Military Friendly list in 2019-20. In other years, the College has consistently been among the Top Ten schools on the list, as well as a top school on Viqtory’s Military Friendly Spouse Schools list.
More than 1,800 institutions participated in this year’s annual survey by Viqtory to determine its 2022-23 list of Military Friendly Schools. Of the participants, 665 schools earned special awards for going above the standard.
The methodology, criteria, and weightings for the list were determined by Viqtory with input from an advisory council of independent leaders in higher education and the military recruitment community.
Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer) and Loan Default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
FTCC offers a wide range of classes and programs are available in a variety of settings, including on FTCC’s campuses, at Fort Bragg and online. FTCC awards appropriate credit for prior military learning and follows up with comprehensive services to meet the special educational needs of military personnel and their families.
FTCC’s All American Veterans Center, on its Fayetteville campus, provides educational assistance and support to veterans. The College’s Transition Tech program provides industry-focused training for military members who are preparing for civilian life.
The 2022-23 Military Friendly Schools list will be included in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine, which is published by Viqtory. The list is also available at militaryfriendly.com.
