FTCC’s Jumpstart Program is an engaging 6-week experience that empowers new students to successfully complete their English and Math requirements while adapting to college life. Eligibility Requirements for the 2025 Trojan Jumpstart Program

WHAT is FTCC Jumpstart?

FTCC’s Jumpstart Program is an engaging 6-week experience that empowers new students to successfully complete their English and Math requirements while adapting to college life. Throughout the program, participants will enjoy weekly Lunch and Learn sessions, where they will have the opportunity to participate in college and career-focused workshops designed to equip them with essential skills and knowledge for their academic journey. This program is free for students enrolled in the Jumpstart Program.

WHEN will the program take place?

Participants are required to make a firm commitment and maintain consistent attendance throughout the entirety of the six-week program. Jumpstart New Student Orientation will take place Friday, June 13, 2025 from 9am-12pm. Classes will run from June 16, 2025- July 25, 2025, each week day from 8:45am-12:00pm.

WHO is eligible for this program?
  • High school seniors scheduled to graduate in June 2025.
  • Students unsure about their future careers and looking for guidance and chances to explore potential career paths.
  • Students who have not yet committed to a college for the upcoming academic year will receive priority.
  • Students who need foundational skills to be prepared for higher education.
  • Students with GPAs less than 2.8.
Requirement for participation
  • Availability: Students must be available to attend courses and activities from Monday to Friday, starting June 16, 2025, through July 25, 2025, from 8:45 a.m. until noon.
  • Transportation: While transportation will be provided for any off-campus activities, students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the FTCC main campus daily.
  • Application Process: Interested students must submit the following documents
    • Complete the Trojan Jumpstart Application
    • Complete an application on CFNC for FTCC
    • Send a copy of your current high school transcript
    • Send a letter from your high school counselor confirming you are on track to graduate in June 2025.

The first 35 qualified applications received by the priority deadline of May 1, 2025, will be accepted. Selected applicants will be notified via email and asked to confirm their commitment to the program by signing an electronic statement of intent to enroll by May 23, 2025.
*If necessary, these deadlines may be extended for the selection of qualified candidates.
