The Trojans opened their season at home against the Titans, playing two 7-inning games. They then traveled to High Point on Sunday for two more games to make it a four game series opener.
4-0 is the best start in Trojan baseball program history, achieving this with four wins over Guilford Tech this past weekend.
FTCC vs. Guilford Tech: 15-7, 7-5, 5-2, 9-3
Game One
The Trojans started off game one scoring 15 runs after getting behind 3-0 in the top of the first. Clayton Bloomstran (Atlanta, GA), Isaiah Arevalo (Miami, FL) and Toufic Khabie (Aventura, FL) all had homeruns in their first game of the season.
Zamar Lewis (Dublin, NC) led the Trojans with four RBIs. Devin Outlaw (Jacksonville, FL) and Cole Feldman (Midlothian, VA) each scored three runs, while multiple Trojans had two hits in the game.
Jack Anderson (Saint Simmons Island, GA) started on the bump for the Trojans, later getting relief from Lucas Morgan (Florence, SC). Xander Davis (Carolina Beach, NC) closed out the game giving up no runs with seven strikeouts.
Game Two
In game two, the Titans were leading 5-1 until the Trojans broke out for six runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull ahead 7-5. Josiah Harrison (Chesterfield, VA) came in as the closer in the seventh facing three batters, striking out two.
Khabie had another two hits as the designated hitter. Bloomstran, Lewis and Takoda Hardin (Rockfish, NC) each recorded stolen bases.
Along with Harrison, Jacob Chavis (Pembroke, NC), Garrett Arnold (Fuquay-Varina, NC) and Aidan McArdle (Pequannock, NJ) all saw time on the bump.
Game Three
The Trojans scored one run in every inning but the third and fourth to get their five runs. They had six timely hits to plate their base runners. Feldman and Harrison each had doubles in the game. Outlaw went 2-2 with two walks and a stolen base.
Landon McDonald (Jacksonville, FL) started on the mound for the Trojans allowing one run with three strikeouts. Riley Mullen (Bunn, NC) had two strikeouts in his 1.1 innings of work and Bloomstran finished out the game facing two batters.
Game Four
Guilford Tech was leading 2-0 until the top of the fourth when the Trojans plated their first runs of the game. Only allowing one more run from that point on, the Trojans went on to score another six runs.
Outlaw and Charlie Sindahl (Savannah, GA) each had two hits and two RBIs to lead the offense. The Trojans recorded nine stolen bases in this game.
The Trojans only used two pitchers on the bump starting with Jackson Rosser (Broadway, NC) who went three innings with two strikeouts. Dylan Fegley (Lebanon, PA) threw the final four innings allowing one run with four strikeouts.
The Trojans will travel to neighbor Methodist University to play their JV squad Wednesday in a single game at 4pm, before hosting another four game series against USC-Lancaster this weekend out at JP Riddle Stadium: 2823 Legion. All home games are free admission!
