Baseball traveled to neighboring Methodist University to play their JV squad. The Trojans scored six runs in the ninth to come out on top. This is the best start in program history as the Trojans are sitting at 5-0. 

FTCC vs. Methodist University-JV: 10-3, Win

Josiah Harrison (Chesterfield, VA) started on the mound for the Trojans throwing two-innings, giving up no runs with three strikeouts. Lucas Morgan (Florence, SC) came on in relief in the third, allowing the first Monarch run in the sixth. The game was finished by Cody Hoelzle (Wake Forest, NC), Charlie Sindahl (Savannah, GA) and Ty’Quez Hadley (Hartsville, SC). 

The Trojans took the lead in the third, scoring three runs. They added one in the eighth and broke the game open in the ninth scoring six. 

The offense was led by Myles Odom (Pleasant Garden, NC) with four hits and three RBIs, including an in the park homerun. Gamble Bye (Perham, MN) also had three RBIs with two hits. 

The Trojans had 15 hits to score their ten runs.

Baseball is back at home this weekend as they host a four-game series with USC-Lancaster. Saturday’s first pitch is set for 1pm and Sunday’s was moved up to a 12pm start time. All home games are free admission and played at JP Riddle Stadium: 2823 Legion Road.
