Congratulations to FTCC Men’s Basketball team members, George Jones, Jr. (sophomore) and Jeremee Bryant (freshman). Both men have been an integral part of the success of the Trojan team during the 2021-2022 basketball season. Jones and Bryant were selected for the NJCAA Region 10, Division II Honoree Teams. George was selected to the 2nd team; Jeremee to the 3rd team. This honor is selected by the twelve head coaches in Division II. They nominate thirty-three players across the region they feel are worthy of this recognition.
Head FTCC Men’s Basketball Coach, Brian Hurd commented that “these young men are an important element of this year’s team. George is our only third year player. I have watched him mature and he has been a part of a total rebuilding process for this team. Jeremee came to our team learning how to play at the college level from high school. The transition makes you have to learn that the college game is much faster, more physical and has totally different terminology. Both young men have grown and developed this year.”
Going into tonight’s playoff game, after 25 games played, George has a 13.0 points per game average, 50.8% field goal average and 4.5 rebounds per game. Jeremee comes into tonight’s game with 26 games played, 13.0 points per game average, 47.4% field goal average and 6.3 rebounds per game.
Best of luck to our Trojan Men as they take on Pitt Community College in the semifinals tonight at 7 p.m. at Methodist University, 5400 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville. Let’s Go Trojans!
