Volleyball traveled to Louisburg to take on the Hurricanes last Wednesday night. The Trojans came out on top 3-1 for their third straight road victory. 

The Trojans hosted five games this past weekend at FTCC with Monroe University, Richard Bland and Bryant & Stratton College. The Trojans fell on Friday night to #5 Richard Bland College and split on Saturday with a win over Bryant & Stratton College before losing to Monroe University. 

FTCC vs. Louisburg College: 3-1, Win

The Trojans took the first two sets 25-14 and 25-20 before dropping set three to the Hurricanes. FTCC was able to pull out the fourth set 25-21 to win the match. 

Ella Ferrie (Stanchfield, MN) led the Trojan offense with 10 kills and three services aces. She also added 11 digs. Bella Finelli (Pembroke, NC) had a whopping 21 digs for the Trojans, while Madi Harmon (Fayetteville, NC) had 13 digs and 14 assists. 

The Trojans had 12 assisted blocks in the match and one solo block from Yazmine Lucas (Pembroke, NC). 

 

FTCC vs. Richard Bland College: 0-3, Loss

The Trojans fell to #5 Richard Bland College on Friday night losing the first three sets. 

The Statesmen came out hot early and never took their foot off the pedal defeating the Trojans 11-25, 8-25 and 16-25.

Delaney Brooms (Robbinsville, NC) had five kills to lead the Trojan offense and Gabby Walters (Salemburg, NC) had six assists. 

 

FTCC vs. Bryant & Stratton College: 3-0, Win

An early match Saturday morning was nothing to phase the Trojans as they defeated the Bobcats in three sets: 25-22, 25-21, 25-22. 

The Trojans fought hard in all three sets and pulled out the win in each one. Carleigh Hemby (Dunn, NC) led the Trojans with 11 kills and Brooms added eight. 

Harmon and Walters split the setting position and finished with a combined 26 assists. Finelli added another 18 digs to her count for the season. 

 

FTCC vs. Monroe University: 0-3, Loss

Monroe University traded places with the Trojans and came down from New York to play another match up. The Trojans fought hard against the Mustangs in set three to try and extend to a fourth set, but Monroe pulled out the win in the final match of the day. 

The Trojans had 16 kills and 14 assists in the game. Lucas led the defense with four assisted blocks, three with Rosa Harris (Irving, TX). 

 

The Trojans are back at home on Tuesday against Cape Fear at 6pm, pending weather. Volleyball will be on the road Thursday and Friday as they head to Pitt Community College and Denmark Tech later in the week.
