Volleyball traveled to Petersburg, Virginia Friday night to play #5 Richard Bland on their home court. The Statesmen took the first three sets not allowing the Trojans to earn over 16 points.
On Sunday, the Trojans headed over to Chesapeake, Virginia to take on the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton in their second conference game of the weekend. The Trojans took the first three sets, holding the Bobcats to only nine points in set two to break even on their out of state trip.
FTCC vs. Richard Bland: 0-3, Loss
The Trojans earned 14 kills, five coming from middle, Rosa Harris (Irving, TX). Bella Finelli (Pembroke, NC) had eight digs and Gabby Walters (Salemburg, NC) finished with four assists.
FTCC vs. Bryant & Stratton: 3-0, Win
The first set with the Bobcats was a back and forth battle coming down to a two point difference before the Trojans completely dominated set two 25-9.
Carleigh Hemby (Dunn, NC) and Harris each had seven kills to lead the offense. The Trojans had 30 digs split between five players being active on defense. Madi Harmon (Fayetteville, NC) set up 13 kills with her assists along with Walters who had 11.
Kayloni Eddings (Pembroke, NC) was hot on the net with six assisted blocks and Yazmine Lucas (Pembroke, NC) and Harris each added five.
The Trojans are back at home this Tuesday, October 22 at 6pm for Sophomore Night. They will be playing the Bulldogs of Pitt Community College, with sophomore recognition to take place before the start of the match.
