Volleyball was on the road to Patrick & Henry CC and USC-Union for two non-conference games this past week. The Trojans brought home the win in both matches.
FTCC vs. Patrick & Henry (3-1, W)
The Trojans secured the first set by five points before dropping set two. With the game tied, the Trojans pulled out the next two sets to defeat Patrick & Henry.
Ella Ferrie (Stanchfield, MN) set her personal best on offense with 18 kills. Britney Christianson (Salemburg, NC) also helped lead the Trojan offense to victory with 10 kills. Madi Harmon (Fayetteville, NC) not only set her team up with 16 assists, but led the defense getting 26 digs. Bella Finelli (Pembroke, NC) added 17 digs as well.
FTCC vs. USC-Union (3-1, W)
After dropping set one 18-25, the Trojans came back to take the next three sets (25-14, 26-24, 25-16) over the Bantams.
Ferrie was the leading scorer again for the Trojans with nine kills, but Rosa Harris (Irving, TX) was right behind with eight. Gabby Walters (Salemburg, NC) and Harmon each had double digits assists for their team. Finelli finished the match with 13 digs, while Harmon and Ferrie each added 10. Delaney Brooms (Robbinsville, NC) had four service aces.
Volleyball is back on the road on Wednesday traveling to Louisburg College for a 6pm matchup. The Trojans first home game is Friday, Sept 13 against #5 Richard Bland College. Volleyball will be hosting a tri-match on Saturday with Bryant & Stratton College and Monroe University.
