6:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Auditions for spring musical comedy production

PutnamcountyspellingbeealbumcoverThe FTCC Fine Arts Department will be holding auditions for roles in its spring production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” Anyone interested in auditioning should request an appointment for their preferred date by contacting Katie Herring at herringk@faytechcc.edu or 910-678-8493. They will be sent a selection from the script to prepare to read for the audition. They should also prepare to sing 32 bars of a musical theater song.

All are welcome to audition – students, faculty, staff and members of the community.

Rehearsals for the play will begin on Nov. 4 and be held from 6-9pm Monday through Thursday. There will be no rehearsals during FTCC’s winter break. Performances are scheduled for Feb. 20 – March 1.

“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” is a Tony Award-winning musical. Playbill.com says the musical follows “a group of wonderfully unique and impassioned adolescents as they compete for the bee championship,” and “is a joyful night of comedy and quirk that celebrates the pursuit of victory and the gift of being true to oneself.”
