Women’s Basketball opened their season on the road at Bryant & Stratton. Since then, they have hosted two home games against Hagerstown CC and Cape Fear CC. The Trojans are 1-2 overall so far this season with a lot of basketball left to play.
FTCC vs. Bryant & Stratton: 52-71, Loss
The Trojans were down by two points after the first quarter, before the Bobcats pulled ahead outscoring the Trojans by 13 points in the second quarter. Bryant & Stratton never lost a beat and continued to outscore the Trojans in the second half.
Amire Banks (Mount Vernon, GA) led the Trojans with 18 points in the first game of the season. Ke’Onna Bryant (Fayetteville, NC) had her first double double of the season with 15 rebounds and 13 points.
FTCC vs. Hagerstown CC: 80-55, Win
The Trojans put their foot on the pedal and never took it off over the course of the four quarters.
Amore’ Kirkland (Fayetteville, NC) and Banks were the leading scorers both with 18 points each. Mauricia Bennett (Whiteville, NC) came off the bench for the Trojans and scored 14 of the team’s 80 points.
FTCC vs. Cape Fear: 57-73, Loss
The Sea Devils were ahead by nine after the first quarter until the Trojans made a run in the second cutting that gap down to seven points. Cape Fear took the third and fourth quarter to finish on top and hand the Trojans their second conference loss of the season.
Kirkland scored a team high 26 points and Banks followed with 11.
The Trojans are back at home on Saturday for another conference game against Guilford Tech CC. Game time is set for 3pm at Reid Ross Classical School: 3200 Ramsey Street. It will be a GOLD OUT so wear your Trojan gold!
